Banquet Server
Description
The Banquet Server is responsible for setting up banquet rooms, providing attentive food and beverage service, and maintaining cleanliness before, during, and after events. This role ensures an exceptional dining experience for all members and guests by delivering prompt, courteous, and professional service at all banquet functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform banquet room set-up duties, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and service stations.
- Greet members and guests promptly upon seating and provide immediate, attentive service.
- Take beverage orders and serve food within assigned service stations.
- Pour and refill wine, coffee, water, and other beverages during and after meals.
- Clear soiled dishes, glassware, and silverware in a timely and efficient manner.
- Clean and maintain all assigned work areas, including banquet rooms and kitchen support areas.
- Communicate any member or guest concerns or complaints to the supervisor promptly.
- Aid with closing banquet functions by removing linens, bussing tables, and resetting rooms for upcoming events.
- Attend required staff meetings, including pre-service line-up sessions.
- Consistently follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Complete additional duties and assignments as directed by the Banquet Captain or Banquet Director.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
Fast-paced banquet and event service environment, including indoor event spaces and occasional outdoor venues
Moderate to high noise levels from guests, staff, music, and event activity
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and moving throughout banquet rooms and service areas
Hands-on service responsibilities, including event set-up and breakdown, serving food and beverages, clearing tables, and guest interaction
Closer collaboration with banquet staff, supervisors, and culinary team to ensure smooth, high-quality event execution
Direct interaction with members and guests to provide a welcoming, professional, and polished event experience
