Banquet Server

About the role

This position is responsible for serving food and beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. You will set up, maintain, and take down banquet rooms according to function specifications, ensuring exceptional guest service and an inviting atmosphere while adhering to all health regulations and local liquor laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest quality service to guests using proper serving techniques.
• Anticipate and respond to guests in a friendly, positive, and timely manner.
• Follow serving directions from banquet captain and event planner.
• Set up, maintain, and take down banquet rooms after service/events.
• Bus trays in a timely manner and keep banquet areas, meeting rooms, and work areas neat, clean, and presentable.
• Adhere to all health regulations and local liquor laws.
• Responsible for proper use of all banquet collateral and equipment.
• Follow cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
• Dispense/serve food and beverages while maintaining a clean and safe work area in accordance with CSM, local, state, and federal regulations.
• Follow all CSM procedures for guest/associate incidents and be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
• Produce required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work duties.
• Adhere to CSM attendance policy, grooming/appearance standards, general work rules, and department procedures.
• Attend all required department and hotel meetings.
• Assist bartenders and work as a team player to ensure all guest needs are met.
• Complete all assigned duties within or outside the normal scope of responsibilities, including side work and assisting wherever necessary.
• Actively contribute to the success of the guest experience.

Requirements

• TIPS or CARE beverage service certification desired, or the ability to obtain certification is required.
• One or more years of previous guest service experience.
• Demonstrated exemplary customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform job duties in a repetitious and fast-paced environment.
• Ability to speak, understand, and write English to meet guests’ needs.
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of previous serving experience in a banquet environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Requires continuous walking, standing, carrying, and moving about the property throughout the shift.
