About the role
The Boston Marriott Burlington is seeking a highly motivated Banquet Set-Up Attendant to join our team. This individual will assist in setting up and preparing banquet rooms for events, clearing and tearing down rooms after events, and performing other related tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and arrange conference equipment in conference rooms according to event orders and Conference Services standards.
- Daily thorough cleaning of classrooms, ballrooms, and team rooms, adhering to proper cleaning protocols including trash removal and restocking of supplies.
- Refresh meeting rooms during meal and coffee breaks.
- Complete special projects as directed by department management.
- Moves convention material boxes, programs, etc. from hotel receiving docks, registration areas, guest rooms or suites.
- Bus tables and reset them as needed.
- Resolve guests' issues and create an amazing experience.
- Maintain positive relationships with culinary and stewarding staff.
- Maintain awareness of all functions, events, and meetings taking place at any given time.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Able to follow instructions both verbally and in writing.
- Highly detail-oriented.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Flexible schedule accommodating evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Problem-solving abilities.
- A passion for creating exceptional guest experiences.
- Ability to stand for long periods, walk, and climb stairs.
- Comfortable lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. at shoulder height and up to 50 lbs. frequently.
