About the role
The Banquet House Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring that every event hosted at Raffles Boston meets or exceeds guest expectations. This position requires attention to detail, adaptability, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the room is set perfectly for each function to exceed guest’s expectations.
- Assists clients with all last-minute changes.
- Aware of fire extinguishers, locations, and knows how to use them.
- Handles all guest, event planner, and manager inquiries knowledgeably and proficiently.
- Maintains organization and cleanliness of banquet spaces and storage.
- Ensures that all banquet equipment is organized and in good condition.
- Communicates clients’ requests to the management team in a timely manner.
- Partners with Banquet Team and AV vendors to ensure seamless delivery and set-up.
- Performs opening and closing procedures and side-work duties.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
- Similar experience at a luxury hotel with available references.
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to stand for the entire shift.
- Ability to maneuver throughout the banquet areas while carrying full trays of food & beverages.
- Ability to move, lift and transfer necessary banquet equipment throughout the building as instructed by manager.
Physical Requirements
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays if required.
- Moderate physical effort - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to stand for the entire shift.
- Ability to move, lift and transfer necessary banquet equipment throughout the building as instructed by manager.
