Banquet Bartender Part/Time ($23 hr) - The Watermark Hotel

About the Role

This position is responsible for preparing and serving beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. The bartender adheres to all health regulations and local liquor laws, sets up, maintains, and takes down the bar after service or events, ensures exceptional guest service, creates an inviting bar atmosphere, and follows B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group and brand standards of quality.

Responsibilities

• Guest Service/Point of Sale: Greets all guests courteously, accurately and quickly takes, prepares, and delivers beverage orders, responds to guests’ needs, operates the Micros system and cash register, and follows cash‑handling/POS procedures to ensure accurate closing of guest checks.
• Bartender Duties: Dispenses appropriate levels of alcohol and prepares drinks to recipe and brand standards, uses equipment properly, adheres to cost controls, checks guests’ identification, monitors alcohol consumption for compliance with state and local liquor laws, and assists other associates as needed.
• Bussing/Cleaning: Disposes of garbage, picks up trays, restocks barware, clears and wipes down the bar, transfers dirty glassware to the dishroom, and polishes clean glassware.
• Paperwork: Completes all required paperwork accurately and promptly, including beginning and end‑of‑shift inventory and other responsibilities.
• Safety/Risk Management: Maintains a clean and safe work area, handles all beverage/food in compliance with company, local, state, and federal regulations, ensures sanitation of the bar and storeroom, follows procedures for guest/associate incidents, and is knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
• Self / Workload Management: Plans, organizes, and prioritizes duties to meet required volume, adheres to grooming and appearance standards, follows general work rules and department procedures, attends required department and hotel meetings, and complies with the attendance policy.
• Miscellaneous/Other Duties: Completes all required side work, takes initiative to assist wherever necessary, works as a team player, and actively contributes to the success of the guest experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
• Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: TIPS or CARE beverage service certification desired, or ability to obtain certification required. Minimum one year of previous bartending experience or bartender certification. Demonstrated exemplary customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform duties in a fast‑paced, repetitive environment. Ability to speak, understand, and write English to meet guest needs and complete paperwork.
• Physical: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lb regularly and up to 75 lb occasionally. Must be able to walk, stand, carry, and move continuously throughout the shift.
• Preferred Experience: Additional year of bartending experience and bartender certification is preferred.

Pay

$23 per hour (minimum and maximum wage). Base pay is determined by qualifications, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, education, certifications, and other variables.
