About the role
The Banquet Bartender will be responsible for taking orders, preparing and serving beverages and light meals to guests, maintaining stock/supplies and cleanliness of the bar area, and responding to guest inquiries and complaints.
Responsibilities
- Take orders and serve drinks to guests
- Prepare and serve light meals to guests
- Maintain stock/supplies and cleanliness of the bar area
- Respond to guest inquiries and complaints
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of the bar top, tables, service areas and outlet itself
- Present guest checks and process payments
- Clean and reset bar top and tables immediately after guests depart
- Clean glassware in glass machine/three compartment sink
- Complete opening side duties including checking stock, requisitioning supplies, setting up bottles, preparing garnishes, stocking glassware and paper supplies, preparing mixes, checking equipment, and cleaning the bar top and tables
- Prepare and serve cappuccino and espresso
- Prepare and serve wine/champagne bottles
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of the bar top, tables, service areas and outlet itself
- Complete closing side duties including properly storing all reusable goods, emptying and draining the ice bin, scrubbing the sink, removing all items from the bar top and tables, wiping clean all surfaces, cleaning all bar equipment and tools, removing trash, counting empty bottles, attaching transfer slips/spill reports, and placing them in the Liquor storeroom
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate
- Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
- 2 years of bartending experience required, in a luxury setting preferred
- Fluency in English, both verbal and non-verbal
- Experience in cash handling processes
- Certification in an alcohol awareness program
- Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service
- Food handling certificate & TABC
- Certification of CPR an asset
- Provide legible communication
- Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers/point of sales system
- Compute basic arithmetic
Qualifications

Skills
- Knowledge of state liquor regulations
- Knowledge of designated glassware, ingredients, preparation method and garnishes for each drink
- Knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet
- Knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list
