Banquet Bartender (On-Call $16.90/hr.)

About the role

Bartenders are responsible for providing libations and offering customized recommendations. The right person should be familiar with the latest in mixology, bar equipment, and sanitation standards, with a focus on maintaining an attractive bar. This position offers opportunity for casual conversation, creativity and allows for building on one’s style and previous bartending experiences. Preferred candidates will have understanding of state and local serving guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide libations and offer customized recommendations to guests.
• Maintain knowledge of current mixology trends, bar equipment, and sanitation standards.
• Keep the bar area attractive and well‑organized.
• Engage in casual conversation with guests, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
• Apply creativity to drink preparation and presentation.
• Adhere to state and local alcohol serving guidelines.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of bartending experience in a banquet, hotel, or resort setting (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktail preparation.
• Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Desire to satisfy guest needs in a fast‑paced environment.
• Refined verbal communication skills.
• Physical stamina to lift moderate weights and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Organizational and communication abilities.
• Maintain Hyatt Operating and Guest Service Standards.
• Previous food‑and‑beverage, hotel, or guest‑service experience preferred.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Valid California Food Handler
