Banquet Bartender
About the role
Come join Team Atlantis! The Banquets Bartender will prepare and serve beverages to guests in a quick, efficient, friendly, and professional manner for all events. Ensure that guests are served in accordance with State and local guidelines regarding the service of alcohol. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a clean bar area, processing payments, and taking inventory of the bar.
Responsibilities
- Greet and communicate with all guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Ensure prompt, expedient, and courteous service to all guests and visitors at all times.
- Smile and show genuine interest in guests’ needs or questions; attempt to accommodate any reasonable request.
- Receive and understand beverage orders; repeat them back to the guest and/or servers for accuracy.
- Maintain updated knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor brands offered for consumption.
- Know the ingredients of commonly asked-for cocktails and specialty drinks, required garnishes, proper glassware, and current prices.
- Properly mix drinks, set for presentation, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as requested.
- Adhere to, enforce, and practice all alcoholic beverage laws, policies, and regulations.
- Circulate through the assigned bar area continuously to provide superior guest service.
- Contact the Manager/Supervisor on duty for any guest-related issues if unable to resolve them.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, free of dirty glassware, ashtrays, beer bottles, and other trash.
- Abide by established health and safety standards; perform continual side work duties.
- Work as a team to increase revenue through suggestive selling and decrease expenses through proper product handling.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects or tools, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Alcohol Awareness Card required.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintain updated knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor brands offered for consumption.
- Know the ingredients to cocktails and specialty drinks, required garnishes, and proper glassware.
- Continuously watch for signs of intoxication for the protection and enjoyment of all guests.
- Ability to bend, lift, or carry goods weighing up to 50 lbs on a continuous schedule.
- Ability to safely assist in moving and positioning front and back bars (approximately 150 lbs) as part of a two-person lift, using proper equipment and safety procedures.
- Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and awkward positions, requiring standing, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and reaching overhead for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity to use a corkscrew, knives, and ice scoop.
- Adhere to all appearance standards, including no "visible" tattoos/piercings or unnatural hair and nail colors.
