Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights Legal Assistant
Job Details
A well-established Tampa Bay law firm's Creditors' Rights and Bankruptcy practice group is seeking an experienced legal assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume federal court environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, proofread, and format bankruptcy documents including proofs of claim, stay relief motions, and objections
- E-file pleadings via CM/ECF and state e-filing systems
- Monitor and track case deadlines, hearings, and critical dates
- Communicate professionally with clients, court staff, trustees, and opposing counsel
- Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files
- Assist with scheduling, calendar management, and hearing preparation
- Support docket monitoring and basic legal research as assigned
Qualifications
- 2+ years of legal assistant experience in creditors' rights required
- CM/ECF and state/federal e-filing proficiency required
- Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a high-volume environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Professional communication skills with clients, courts, and counsel
About the Role
This is a hands-on role supporting attorneys and paralegals across complex bankruptcy matters.
