Bank Accounting Manager

You will be responsible for preparing and posting accounting journal entries for assigned major bank and wallet accounts, including adjusting and correcting entries, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded in the SAP system within established service level agreements. You will also review and approve accounting journal entries and supporting documentation prepared by other team members, perform bank and wallet-to-book reconciliations, analyze account balance movements, identify opportunities to automate processes, and mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post accounting journal entries for assigned major bank and wallet accounts, including adjusting and correcting entries, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded in the SAP system within established service level agreements.
- Review and approve accounting journal entries and supporting documentation prepared by other team members, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal control requirements.
- Perform bank and wallet-to-book reconciliations for designated critical accounts while reviewing reconciliations prepared by the team, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items and proper documentation of outstanding exceptions.
- Analyze account balance movements and investigate unusual or significant variances, providing clear financial insights and recommendations to management and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Monitor the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of daily bank accounting operations to ensure financial records are reliable and reconciliations are completed within prescribed timelines.
- Partner with Customer Fund Management, Treasury, Revenue, Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders to resolve operational issues, reconcile complex transactions, and support new business initiatives.
- Support month-end and year-end financial close activities by ensuring all bank-related transactions, reconciliations, and supporting schedules are completed accurately and on time.
- Prepare and review audit schedules, management reports, and other regulatory or ad hoc reports, ensuring the availability of complete and accurate supporting documentation.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, strengthen internal controls, and improve reconciliation workflows and process documentation to enhance operational efficiency and reduce financial risk.
- Participate in system enhancements, process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional projects by providing accounting expertise, performing data analysis, and supporting implementation and user acceptance testing where applicable.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members, promoting consistent application of accounting policies, reconciliation standards, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and controllership standards while proactively identifying and escalating financial, operational, or control risks.
Requirements
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- At least five to eight years of experience in account reconciliation, preferably in a fintech environment.
- Experience in automating high-volume accounting and reconciliation processes using available tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, Power Query, Power Automate, SQL, VBA, or similar solutions) to improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity, accountability, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality financial information.

- Familiarity with digital payment platforms, e-wallet operations, or financial services is an advantage.

Pay
Salary range: P250,000 - P400,000 per annum based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Full-time position with standard office hours.
