Goodwill Industries of Akron was established in 1927 in a one-room salon at the corner of Howard and Furnace Streets as a branch of Goodwill Industries of Cleveland. Responsibilities
- Safely operate baler to prepare 1200-1500 pound bales for shipment.
- Count number of articles to be banded to verify number on work order.
- Load materials into baling machine.
- Unwind plastic or metal banding material from reel, wrap band around stack or bundle, insert loose end of banding material into strapping tool, and cinch and crimp banding material to secure articles during storage or shipment.
- Comply with all agency safety policies and DOT guidelines.
Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Capable of operating baling machine
- Knowledge of basic math
- Able to operate counterbalance scale to weigh bales
- Able to work independently but also foster teamwork
- Must have a physician-certified disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act per the requirements of Goodwill's State Use Contracts
Schedule
You must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends.
