Baler Operator

About the Role

The Baler Operator will operate a baling machine to bale scrap foam, tie off completed bales, and package them for shipment.

Responsibilities

• Push empty scrap buggies from the baling area to plant locations and exchange with full buggies of scrap foam, then transport full buggies back to the baling area.
• Separate foam types for baling as needed.
• Load scrap foam into the baler and activate it using hand buttons.
• Tie off completed bales and remove them from the baler using a squeeze tow motor (license required).
• Move bales to scales for weighing and tagging, then store them in the designated bale storage area.
• Ensure all scrap foam is baled, tagged with the correct weight, and logged daily for the lead person.
• Wear proper PPE and maintain excellent housekeeping in the production area.
• Follow safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and use equipment properly.
• Perform general area maintenance on equipment, including coordinating with the maintenance department as needed.
• Adhere to all procedures and guidelines, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.
