About the role
Tend machines that shred and/or compress and bind paper by-products generated from the print manufacturing process to facilitate disposition of the waste materials.
Responsibilities
- Thread tie bands around bale and twist or clamp ends of bands to tighten bands
- Open compression chamber doors and remove bale from machine
- Truck bales to storage location using air lifts, pallet jacks or hoist trucks
- Complete daily forklift condition report
- Weight the bales and keep records of the gross weight, materials grade of the bales
- Perform routine maintenance on the baling machinery and remove obstructions in the cyclone as needed
- May load bales on trucks, rail cars for disposal and complete shipping manifest
- May photograph container and seal for verification purposes
- Train and mentor new and existing employees, ensuring consistent knowledge of company policies, procedures, and best practices to improve team performance and productivity
Requirements
- 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Requires knowledge of standard set ups, adjustments and operating characteristics of the equipment and skill to perform standard adjustments and operate the equipment
- Ability to set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to the equipment according to the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and capabilities of the equipment
Pay
The salary range for this role is $17.00 - $22.67 per hour. Starting pay decisions are determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other business needs. Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay.
