Baler Operator 2nd Shift

Entry level position starting at $19.50 per hour plus shift differential. Full-time, 2nd shift (2pm-10pm).

Responsibilities

• Operate Hogger, Baler, and Slitter machines safely and efficiently.
• Produce neat, well-formed bales.
• Hog up all unusable paper and corrugated scrap.
• Maintain accurate bale reports and waste data; complete daily waste documents.
• Manage inventories of bale wire, dunnage, and scrap bales.
• Operate a forklift safely; load trailers and complete Straight Bill of Ladings.
• Submit maintenance work orders for needed repairs and proactively maintain equipment.
• Assist with Sustainability Initiatives.
• Operate Slitter to cut waste sheets to usable sizes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Ability to read a tape measure quickly and accurately.
• Proficiency in calculating percentages, measurements, volume, and rates using high school-level math.
• Ability to follow written, oral, or graphic instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables.
• Working knowledge of equipment design, production specifications, and quality standards.
• May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
• Ability to read and follow factory instructions.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally required to sit.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
• Occasionally exposed to high places, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
