Bakery Technician
About the role
The Bakery Technician plays a key part in supporting Affinity Group’s retail bakery partners through in-store training, program execution, and product support. This role involves traveling to store locations, helping launch new bakery programs, training in-store staff on production and merchandising, and supporting manufacturer partners by promoting high-quality bakery products.
Responsibilities
- Lead in-store training and support for bakery operations
- Educate teams on baking techniques, cake decorating, and merchandising
- Aid with new store openings and remodels, ensuring smooth bakery launches
- Be the trusted partner for retail clients, offering guidance, feedback, and hands-on help
- Champion manufacturer products through training, sales support, and field execution
- Travel frequently and work flexible hours to meet the needs of stores and training sessions
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a bakery or foodservice setting
- Cake decorating skills and a solid understanding of bakery operations
- A knack for teaching and motivating others (training experience a plus)
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
- A self-starter mindset with the flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort using basic technology (email, mobile devices, Microsoft Office)
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license required due to frequent travel
- Ability to lift 30 lbs, work in coolers/freezers, and operate industrial bakery equipment

- Basic computer skills (email, mobile devices, Microsoft Office)

Schedule
Monday–Friday, early AM to mid PM, with some evenings or weekends as needed
Travel
95% travel required (daily), with occasional overnight stays
