Position Summary
The Bakery Cook 2 works under close supervision while assisting the Chef or Bakery Cook 1 accordingly. They are responsible for the prepping and preparation of food as directed and perform any cooking, baking, butchering required. This role pays an hourly rate of $27.47 to 29.47 (per CBA).

Mccormick Place Convention Center, the largest and most versatile convention facility on the continent, located along Chicago’s stunning lakefront and minutes from downtown. It offers over 2.6 million square feet of exhibit space and consists of four state-of-the-art buildings.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to Board of Health and ServSafe regulations.
- Prepare food products as directed by recipe and/or supervisor while maintaining strict adherence to standards and specifications.
- Complete all assigned production priorities daily.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the work area according to standards (including refrigerators, counters, tables, storage areas, etc.).
- Inform supervisor of any shortages or equipment malfunctions.
- Show knowledge of food quality, utilization, storage, rotation, and consistency.
- Demonstrate practical understanding of kitchen sanitation.
- Conduct work efficiently to meet high demand.
- Create and support a team environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Must have a High School Diploma/GED.
- Must have sufficient math ability to accurately add, subtract, divide, multiply, and perform other basic business math calculations.
- Understand written and oral direction and communicate effectively with others.
- Scheduling flexibility is essential, must be able to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Must have six months of experience in a commercial kitchen.
- Must be able to work in a high-stress environment.
- Able to work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
- Able to work in an environment having both hot and cold temperature extremes.
- Must have a pleasant personality and adhere to Uniform Standards policy.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have an Illinois Food Handlers Certificate.
- Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to push, move, and lift heavy objects.
