Bakery Clerk

About the role

A Bakery Clerk plays a key role in the day-to-day bakery operations. This position involves preparing dough, glazing pastries, and assisting with baking tasks from start to finish. Working alongside the Bakery Sales Manager, the Baker’s Helper helps plan the day’s production, gathers ingredients, and follows recipes with accuracy and attention to detail. Tasks may include applying icing to baked goods, monitoring oven temperatures, and ensuring products meet quality standards.

The role also includes providing courteous, helpful service to customers, offering product information, answering questions, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in consistent results, and appreciates the craft of baking. A strong sense of teamwork, reliability, and a focus on customer experience are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dough and glaze pastries
• Assist with baking tasks from start to finish
• Plan the day’s production alongside the Bakery Sales Manager
• Gather ingredients and follow recipes accurately
• Apply icing to baked goods and monitor oven temperatures
• Ensure products meet quality standards
• Provide courteous and helpful customer service
