Job Summary
Aids in the daily operations of the bakery department. Enhances customer confidence and loyalty through consistent and compliant operating conditions. Ensures fresh and appealing products, courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt service.
Responsibilities
SERVICE: 60%
- Creates a welcoming environment for customers.
- Maintains product availability, freshness, quality, and value.
- Offers product samples, answers questions, and assists customers.
- Fulfills customer requests and special orders.
LEADERSHIP: 20%
- Promotes trust and respect among associates.
- Communicates company and department information.
- Adheres to local, state, and federal laws.
FINANCIAL: 10%
- Maintains inventory and reports discrepancies.
- Ensures product quality and freshness.
- Prepares, packages, labels, and displays products.
- Utilizes production planning tools.
- Follows food safety guidelines and discards or markdowns products as needed.
- Monitors temperatures and documents logs.
COMPLIANCE/SAFETY: 10%
- Maintains safety standards and proper food handling practices.
- Executes product recalls and withdrawals.
- Notifies management of accidents and reports safety risks and issues.
- Ensures adherence to wage and hour policies.
- Cultivates a culture of safety.
- Ensures equipment is in good repair and reports/remedies safety hazards.

Relevant Experience
- Supervisory experience: 0 - 3 years minimum
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must be 18 years old.
- Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain it.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills.
- Operates bakery equipment according to company guidelines.

- Physical Demands:
- Standing, walking, utilizing manual dexterity, talking, seeing, hearing, smelling, performing repetitive movements.
- Sitting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing up to 10 ft.
- Working Conditions:
- Indoor, outdoor, cold, freezing, heated, and wet/humid working conditions.
- Loud noise, skin irritants, nuisance dust, fumes, sprays, hazardous cleaning solutions, and toxins.
- Overall Required Equipment:
- Cleaning supplies and equipment, general office equipment, register, pricing gun, scales, scanner, various material handling equipment, such as racks, carts, pallet jacks, shopping carts.
Department Specific Required Equipment:
- Powered cutting equipment, such as slicers, saws, grinders, various knives, various ovens, stoves, rotisserie, fryers, steamers, proofer, wrapping equipment.
Preferred Equipment:
- Baler/compactor, general hardware tools such as a ladder, pliers, wire cutters, box cutter.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Goggles, Gloves, Cutting Gloves, Fryer Gloves, Oven Gloves, Back Brace.
