Baker Team Member, Bakehouse

As a Baker/Mixer, you will perform duties related to the daily production of baked goods, including mixing, dividing, shaping, proofing, and baking all bread and bakery products. You will work collaboratively with other Bakery Team Members to ensure the bread production process runs smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Mix doughs correctly and weigh/measure accurately using scales.
• Ensure accuracy in mixing, dividing, shaping, proofing, and baking to maintain consistency in daily production.
• Follow correct mixing order and adhere to all recipes and instructions.
• Follow the production schedule and use Globalbake for recipe printing.
• Maintain clean work areas, mixers, and utensils.
• Work with PLUs and UPC codes.
• Operate and sanitize all equipment safely, including mixers, water chiller/dispenser, and other tools.
• Comply with established procedures, including FSMA, HACCP, health and sanitation standards, Organic standards, and safe work practices.
• Arrive on time, wear appropriate PPE, work scheduled shifts, complete required trainings, and attend meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to read and speak basic English.
• Experience in bench hand production and all aspects of bread production.
• Thorough knowledge of baking ingredients, equipment, weights, and measures (tares).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and math skills (ability to perform "on the fly" calculations).
• Basic computer and software skills.
• Ability to take direction and work well with others.
• Capable of tasting and evaluating products to judge quality.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to learn the proper and safe usage of equipment such as Hobart mixers, balers, knives, and other kitchen tools.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Able to work in temperatures ranging from -10 to 100 degrees.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally throughout the day.
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation.
• Ability to stand or walk for at least 8 hours and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach with or without reasonable accommodation.

Schedule

• Average shifts are 8 hours long.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay

The wage range for this position is $19.25–$31.08 per hour.
