About the role

Covia is seeking a dynamic Bagger Operator for its McIntyre, GA location. This position plays a crucial role in the Production team and supports various industrial markets.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties in a safe manner, following all safety regulations and safe work practices.
• Inspect and ensure all equipment is in a safe working condition.
• Operate bagging and palletizing equipment efficiently.
• Program ink-jet bag labeling system according to work order instructions.
• Conduct workplace examinations before each shift to identify potential safety hazards.
• Maintain bagging equipment in good working order.
• Collect routine samples according to plant procedures.
• Communicate pertinent information to plant supervision.
• Flexibly work schedules including rotating shifts and some weekend work.
• Assist other plant areas as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work with normal supervision.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs/work from heights.
• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 60 lbs.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
