Bag Machine Adjuster - 3rd Shift

About the role

The Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of the various bag manufacturing machine equipment. Key responsibilities include ensuring MO schedules are followed, accurate production reporting, and completing changeovers between MOs. Duties also involve monitoring machine operations, organizing the workspace, and communicating any issues to supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Manufacturing Order (MO) schedule is followed
• Responsible for accurate production reporting
• Responsible for components in visual workspace
• Operates various machines to manufacture products from start to finish
• Completes change overs with team members to change from one MO to the next
• Monitors machines for proper web tracking, ink circulation, and other irregularities
• Organizes work area in a clean and efficient manner
• Works with press attendant and material handlers to order and maintain inventory control
• Informs supervisor of operating deviations or mechanical problems
• Proposes machine modifications to improve production and quality
• Performs all operations in a safe manner

Requirements

• Prior experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment
• High School or trade school graduate or equivalent
• Basic math and computer skills
• Able to read and write, understand policies, MOs, JHAs, and work instructions
• Able to effectively communicate for collaboration and supply delivery
• Excellent mechanical ability and manual dexterity
• Comfortable working in a non-temperature-controlled environment
• Able to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and engage in long periods of standing and lifting
• Able to wear hearing protection and steel-toed shoes
• Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment

Pay

$18.00 - $19.00 hourly, consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position.

Schedule

This position reports to the 3rd shift, which operates Sunday through Thursday from 11pm to 7am.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements & Work Environment: Must be comfortable working in a non-temperature-controlled environment. Must be able to pull, push, lift, move, and adjust products up to 50 pounds. Must be able to engage in periods of long standing, walking, and consistent lifting. Hearing protection and steel toed shoes are required. Safety, hygiene, and cleanliness are strictly enforced.
