Backup Route Driver/Warehouse Associate

Responsibilities

• Pull, check, and verify customer orders for accuracy.
• Prepare, pack, and route merchandise for shipment via UPS, FedEx, truck line, or courier.
• Load and unload delivery trucks safely and efficiently.
• Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Safely load, transport, and deliver compressed gas cylinders and hard goods to customers.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Complete all required DOT/FDA documentation accurately.
• Track deliveries and pickups using handheld technology.
• Return empty cylinders for refilling and maintain proper inventory levels.
• Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of assigned vehicle.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding maintenance, delivery efficiencies, and customer concerns.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional interactions.
• Identify customer needs and help ensure appropriate inventory levels to minimize emergency deliveries.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One (1) year driving experience.
• CDL A or B with HAZMAT.
• Must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by the DOT.
• Clean MVR driving record.
• Ability to read and comprehend Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
  • Stand and walk on concrete for an extended period of time.
  • Bend, use hands and arms.
  • Handle cylinders regularly weighing 150 pounds, up to a maximum of 600 pounds.
• Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and hazardous materials.
• Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock.
• Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work overtime as required.
