Backhaul Driver DOT
Position Summary and Responsibilities
The Local Backhaul Driver (DOT) ensures timely and accurate pick-up of product from local vendors. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, picking up product, returning it to the distribution center, performing deliveries, and completing administrative tasks.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- At least 1 year of route driving experience required
- DOT certification required
- Valid Texas State Class A CDL license required
- Must be able to spend one night per week out of town
- Will work some holidays and some Saturdays
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions
- Ability to follow instructions and take direction
- Able to walk extensively
- Able to stand for long periods of time, bend at the waist, stoop, and squat to lift heavy items in a proper manner
- Able to perform repetitive lifting of 50 lbs
Driver Safety
Driver safety is important to Ben E. Keith. Dash cameras with AI recognition are used to monitor safe driving and improve driver safety performance. Drivers sign a driver consent form upon hire to confirm their understanding.
