Responsibilities

  • Initiates and tracks DHS and FBI background check submissions for program staff and foster families.
  • Maintains background check documentation in the ORR portal.
  • Coordinates with the Apis HR Team on staff onboarding timelines.
  • Conducts quality assurance reviews of background check submissions to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensures all program staff and foster families meet applicable clearance requirements prior to any contact with UACs.
  • Escalates delayed or incomplete background checks to the Program Director.
  • Maintains recordkeeping systems for background check status and renewal timelines.
  • Supports audits and monitoring visits related to staff suitability documentation.
  • Exercises independent judgment consistent with program policy, ORR requirements, and applicable law.
  • Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing, with children, families, and staff.
  • Maintains regular, reliable attendance and responds promptly to program needs, including outside standard business hours when required by the role.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and demonstrated administrative experience in a compliance or human resources environment, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant employment experience.
  • Current valid driver's license, driver registration, and a functional vehicle (as applicable to role).
  • Base technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Smartsheet’s.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Must exhibit integrity and good moral character appropriate for working with children in a residential or foster care setting.
  • Must successfully complete ORR-required background investigations.
  • Must complete ORR-required training applicable to this position’s role and level of program responsibility, as required and scheduled by ORR.
  • Must sign and comply with CHOR’s Code of Conduct consistent with ORR policy, confidentiality acknowledgement, and mandatory reporter agreement.
  • Must disclose any prior misconduct, including conduct occurring off duty, on employment applications and in interviews. Material omissions are grounds for termination.

Pay

$21.63 per hour. DailyPay available.

Schedule

  • Part-Time / Non-Exempt
  • This position is based across two work locations, Bethlehem and Doylestown. The employee will be required to report to and work from both offices as necessary and assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit at a meeting table or desk, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach, stoop, twist, climb steps, drive vehicle and assist individuals as needed.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
