About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer specializing in Backend development to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the technical vision and architecture of our backend systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability as we expand our platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement API layers, enhance real-time blockchain data pipelines, and develop core infrastructure components that support our innovative music economy. As a leader, you will mentor junior engineers, promote best practices in software development, and contribute directly to product decisions that impact our end users. Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical direction and architecture of Soundxyz’s backend systems
• Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of core backend infrastructure and APIs
• Architect scalable solutions to support the platform’s growth and feature expansion
• Enhance real-time blockchain data pipelines to ensure accurate and timely data processing
• Collaborate with product teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Promote best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation to improve developer experience
• Mentor and train engineering team members, fostering a culture of learning and innovation
• Improve deployment pipelines, logging, metrics, and system observability for better reliability and monitoring
• Participate in product decisions and contribute to the overall technical strategy of the company

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software development, with a proven track record of building production-grade applications
• Strong proficiency in backend development, including designing and implementing scalable systems
• Experience with distributed systems architecture and solving complex scalability challenges
• Proficiency in Typescript and GraphQL is highly desirable
• Experience working with real-time data pipelines, especially blockchain or web3 data streams
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges
• Strong leadership and mentorship abilities, with experience guiding engineering teams
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across diverse teams
• Living within GMT-8 to GMT-5 time zones (North American regions) to ensure team alignment
