Backend Java Developer :: Onsite in Bentonville, AR :: Hot Requirement

Location: Onsite in Bentonville, AR | Position Type: W2/Fulltime | Preference for U.S. Citizens/Green Card holders, but open to all who are authorized to work. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Backend Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend applications and services. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using AI-assisted coding and development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Amazon Q, or similar tools to improve development productivity while maintaining code quality and security.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Develop clean, reusable, maintainable, and high-performance code.
• Work with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, etc.
• Implement messaging and event-driven solutions using technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Develop and maintain integrations with internal and external systems using REST APIs and other integration technologies.
• Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
• Write unit, integration, and automated tests.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Work with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.
• Use AI-assisted development/coding tools responsibly for code generation, debugging, refactoring, documentation, and developer productivity.
• Ensure AI-generated code is reviewed, tested, secure, and compliant with organizational standards.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and other development teams.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Java 8/11/17/21+.
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
• Experience developing microservices-based applications.
• Strong experience with REST APIs and web services.
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with Git/GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
