Backend Engineer (Node.js, API)

About The Role

We are seeking a talented Backend Software Engineer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the technical and product roadmap, contributing to backend development, and integrating with various blockchain protocols. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable and secure systems, interact with smart contracts across multiple blockchain chains, and help define the architectural decisions that will support Rain’s growth.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Node.js and other backend technologies
• Strong understanding of server-side development and architecture
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices
• Familiarity with blockchain technology, smart contracts, and DeFi protocols
• Experience with Solidity and Rust is a plus
• Builder mentality with a passion for experimentation and side projects
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Experience or interest in fintech, neobank, or card issuing is advantageous
• Prior experience with smart contract development is a plus but not mandatory

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the backend infrastructure
• Integrate backend systems with smart contracts across multiple blockchain networks
• Drive technical and architectural decisions to support product scalability and security
• Collaborate with product teams to implement new features and improve existing functionalities
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Stay updated on emerging blockchain technologies and DeFi trends
• Support the technical roadmap and help define the future direction of our platform
