About the role
The role owns the architecture, development, and scaling of core backend services powering user-facing applications and high-throughput APIs. The engineering team builds reliable, low-latency distributed systems using modern cloud infrastructure and microservices patterns to handle massive daily transaction volumes.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Node.js, Python, or Go to support expanding product features
- Build and maintain asynchronous processing pipelines and message brokers using Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Manage relational and NoSQL database schemas in PostgreSQL and MongoDB, optimizing query performance and indexing
- Deploy and orchestrate containerized services on Kubernetes and AWS, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance
- Monitor system health, latency, and error rates using Datadog and Prometheus, resolving production incidents proactively
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests, participating in rigorous code reviews and architecture planning
Requirements
- 3–6 years of professional backend software engineering experience building distributed production systems
- Strong proficiency in at least one core backend language: Python, Node.js, or Go
- Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL), caching layers (Redis), and cloud infrastructure (AWS)
- Solid understanding of system design principles, network protocols, security best practices, and CI/CD pipelines
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical industry experience
Skills
- Bonus: Experience with event-driven architectures, GraphQL, or infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
