Backcountry Trails Conservation Crew Leader

About the role

Americorps ACE (Advancing Conservation and Education) is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team. Our mission is to protect and preserve public lands through conservation and education initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead trail maintenance and construction projects
• Engage in public outreach and education programs
• Manage volunteer crews and coordinate logistical needs
• Assist in the development and implementation of conservation strategies
• Contribute to the growth and development of emerging conservation professionals

Requirements

• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Experience in outdoor activities such as hiking, trail maintenance, and environmental education
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for public lands and conservation
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field (environmental science, biology, geography, etc.)
• Previous experience in conservation or related fields
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible hours and occasional weekends/holidays
