Conservation Crew Leader

About the role

The American Conservation Experience (ACE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental stewardship and empowering emerging professionals. We provide hands-on conservation opportunities across the western United States, focusing on trail maintenance, habitat restoration, and other critical projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in trail maintenance, including clearing brush, repairing erosion, and constructing new trails.
• Participate in habitat restoration projects, such as planting native species and removing invasive plants.
• Support educational initiatives, including leading interpretive hikes and workshops.
• Collaborate with local communities and partners to enhance public access and enjoyment of natural areas.
• Contribute to project documentation and reporting, ensuring accurate records of completed work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong physical fitness and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for the outdoors and conservation.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Experience with trail maintenance and habitat restoration is a plus.
• Knowledge of local flora and fauna is beneficial.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Pay

• Hourly rate: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience and location.

Schedule
