Back up Receiver

About the role

As a Backup Receiver at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our receiving functions. This position is responsible for all receiving paperwork, operating machinery (including baler, compactor, and forklift) safely, and maximizing sales potential through proper receiving procedures. You will also maintain the cleanliness of the receiving area and report any discrepancies to management.

Responsibilities

• Handle all receiving functions and paperwork accurately.
• Operate machinery such as baler, compactor, and forklift in a safe and proper manner.
• Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for receiving products.
• Maintain cleanliness of the receiving area.
• Report receiving discrepancies (damages, shortages, nonconformance to specifications) to Managers and Buyers.
• Examine contents and compare with records, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
• Attend all applicable trainings and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Use pallet jack to horizontally transfer product weighing up to 1000 lbs., requiring a force up to 50 lbs., for distances up to 150 feet.
• Perform physical tasks including moving/transferring product weighing up to 60 lbs., from 5” to 56”, for up to 30 feet for up to 30 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Review invoices and monitor incoming product, requiring adequate vision.
• Perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Multi-task, understand proper retail receiving procedures, and demonstrate basic computer knowledge.
• Execute other duties as needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members, Store leadership, and service vendors.
• Ability to work independently.
• Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs. and using a pallet jack for heavier loads.
