Back up Receiver

About the role

As a Backup Receiver at Sprouts Farmers Market, you play a vital role in the company by handling all receiving functions and paperwork. You will operate machinery including balers, compactors, and forklifts safely and properly, while maximizing sales potential through effective receiving procedures. This position also ensures the cleanliness of the receiving area and reports any discrepancies to management.

Responsibilities

• Perform all receiving functions and manage related paperwork.
• Operate machinery such as balers, compactors, and forklifts in a safe and proper manner.
• Maximize sales potential through effective and proper receiving procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of the receiving area.
• Report receiving discrepancies (damages, shortages, nonconformance to specifications) to managers and buyers.
• Examine contents and compare with records, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
• Attend applicable trainings and comply with established procedures, including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Use pallet jacks to horizontally transfer product weighing up to 1000 lbs., requiring a force up to 50 lbs., for distances up to 150 feet.
• Perform physical tasks such as moving/transferring product weighing up to 60 lbs., from 5” to 56”, for up to 30 feet for up to 30 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Review invoices and monitor incoming product, requiring adequate vision.
• Perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Multi-task and understand proper retail receiving procedures.
• Execute other duties as needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with team members, store leadership, and service vendors.
• Ability to work independently.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy products.
