Back up Receiver

About the role

Join our winning team at Sprouts Farmers Market! The Backup Receiver position is crucial to our operations, responsible for all receiving functions and paperwork. You'll operate machinery including baler, compactor, and forklift safely, maximize sales potential through proper receiving procedures, and maintain cleanliness of the receiving area. This fast-paced role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle all receiving functions and paperwork
• Operate machinery (baler, compactor, forklift) safely and properly
• Maximize sales potential through effective receiving procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of receiving area
• Report receiving discrepancies to managers and buyers
• Examine contents and compare with records, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy
• Attend applicable trainings and comply with established procedures (Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, safe work practices)
• Communicate effectively with team members, store leadership, and service vendors
• Perform physical tasks including moving/transferring product weighing up to 60 lbs. from 5” to 56” for up to 30 feet without mechanical assistance
• Use pallet jack to transfer product weighing up to 1000 lbs. (requiring force up to 50 lbs.) for distances up to 150 feet
• Review invoices and monitor incoming product
• Perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Execute other duties as needed

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• Dependable and reliable with ability to work a flexible schedule (including weekends and holidays)
• Ability to work independently with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to multi-task
• Understanding of proper retail receiving procedures
• Ability to comply with all applicable trainings and certifications for equipment use
• Physical ability to perform demanding tasks as described in responsibilities
