Back up Receiver

About the role

As a Backup Receiver at Sprouts Farmers Market, you play a vital role in the company by handling all receiving functions and paperwork. You will operate machinery including balers, compactors, and forklifts safely and properly, while maximizing sales potential through effective receiving procedures. This position also ensures the cleanliness of the receiving area and reports any discrepancies to management.

Responsibilities

• Handle all receiving functions and paperwork accurately.
• Operate machinery such as balers, compactors, and forklifts in a safe manner.
• Maximize sales potential through proper receiving procedures for incoming products.
• Maintain cleanliness of the receiving area.
• Report receiving discrepancies (damages, shortages, nonconformance) to managers and buyers.
• Examine contents and compare with records, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
• Attend applicable trainings and comply with established procedures (Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, safe work practices).
• Use pallet jacks to transfer heavy products (up to 1000 lbs).
• Perform physical tasks including moving/transferring product weighing up to 60 lbs for extended periods.
• Perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and use basic computer knowledge.
• Execute other duties as needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
• Dependable, reliable, and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to move/transfer product weighing up to 60 lbs from 5” to 56” for up to 30 feet without mechanical assistance for up to 30 hours.
• Use pallet jack to transfer product weighing up to 1000 lbs (requiring a force up to 50 lbs) for up to 150 feet for up to 40 hours.
• Vision required for reviewing invoices and monitoring incoming product.
• Ability to perform simple math operations and multi-task.
• Basic computer knowledge and understanding of proper retail receiving procedures.
