Back up Receiver

About the role

As a Backup Receiver at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will be responsible for all receiving functions and paperwork. This includes operating machinery such as balers, compactors, and forklifts safely and properly. You will maximize sales potential through effective receiving procedures and maintain the cleanliness of the receiving area.

Responsibilities

• Handle all receiving functions and paperwork.
• Operate machinery including baler, compactor, and forklift in a safe and proper manner.
• Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for receiving products.
• Maintain cleanliness of the receiving area.
• Report any receiving discrepancies to Managers and Buyers to rectify problems (e.g., damages, shortages, nonconformance to specifications).
• Examine contents and compare with records, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
• Attend all applicable trainings and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Use pallet jack to horizontally transfer product weighing up to 1000 lbs., requiring a force up to 50 lbs., for a distance up to 150 feet.
• Perform physical tasks such as moving/transferring product weighing up to 60 lbs., from 5” to 56”, for up to 30 feet for up to 30 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Review invoices and monitor incoming product.
• Perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Multi-task and understand proper retail receiving procedures.
• Execute other duties as needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members, store leadership, and service vendors.
• Ability to work independently.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Vision required for reviewing invoices and monitoring incoming product.
