The Retail Media Network (RMN) enables advertisers to promote products across our digital ecosystem, including web and mobile platforms. RMN drives monetization by delivering sponsored ads, managing campaign performance, optimizing targeting, and ensuring accurate reporting and billing. The department works cross-functionally with Ads, Payments, Analytics, and Platform teams to provide a seamless advertiser experience.
Project description
The Billing team within RMN owns the end-to-end billing lifecycle for sponsored campaigns, including:
- Budget management and allocation
- Spend tracking and reconciliation
- Revenue calculations
- Invoice generation and adjustments
- Integration with Payments and Finance systems
- Real-time and near-real-time spend reporting
The team ensures financial accuracy, transparency, and scalability of the billing platform while supporting high-volume ad delivery.
About the role
In this role, you will be a critical member of the team building the foundation for Best Buy’s next-generation web platform. You will support and extend running applications and assist in the design and development of new applications. You will evaluate and refactor infrastructure rapidly. Overall knowledge of designing applications for scalable platforms is expected. You will work in an Agile environment using test-driven development and pair programming. The team is evolving toward a DevOps model, with developers engaged in monitoring, optimizing, and supporting production environments. Projects include Cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, and SOA REST-based web applications.

Requirements
- 7–10 years of relevant application software development experience
- Test-Driven Development
- Strong Spring knowledge
- Developing Spring/Java/Groovy/Maven applications
- Experience in developing/consuming REST Services (absolute must)
- Object-oriented programming and experience with Design Patterns
- Experience with emergent design and paired programming
- Strong unit-testing skills (JUnit/Spock in particular)
- Comfortable with database (DB) and Kafka-related development, including design, implementation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and client-server architectures
- Able to participate in the planning process: take high-level design discussions and create user stories, then break those stories into tasks
