About the Role

We are seeking a Mid Level Back End Developer to join our Emerging Markets & Technologies team. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend systems that support our innovative projects in Private Credit, Digital Assets, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Your expertise will contribute to building scalable, secure, and efficient API services that facilitate seamless integration with internal and external stakeholders. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of emerging technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Data Science, Product, and Engineering to deliver impactful solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in backend development, a passion for innovation, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of code quality and system reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs to support internal systems and external client integrations, ensuring high performance and security standards.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Product, and Engineering teams to develop innovative solutions aligned with project goals.
• Participate in code reviews, write clean and maintainable code, and adhere to best practices in software development.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and infrastructure improvements that enhance system scalability and reliability.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, proposing innovative ideas to improve existing systems.
• Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of backend services through rigorous testing and optimization.
• Support ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of backend systems as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in backend development roles.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot framework for building RESTful APIs.
• Experience with functional programming paradigms and AI coding tools such as Claude code, Codex, or similar.
• Strong understanding of API security, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud services and infrastructure management is a plus.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field is highly preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
