Back-End Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Back End Developer to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend services and cloud-based applications. Backend Developers will build the software and data platforms used by geoscientists, drilling engineers, reservoir engineers, and production teams. The role focuses on developing scalable cloud applications, REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend services.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices.
• Develop and support cloud-native applications.
• Participate in system design and software architecture discussions.
• Own features throughout the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve application performance and reliability.
• Implement secure coding practices and follow software development best practices.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.
• Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.

Required Technical Skills

Programming Languages (Strong Experience With One Or More Of The Following): Java, C#, Python, TypeScript, C++ (team dependent)

Backend & Cloud Technologies: Node.js, .NET, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible

Databases: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB

Education & Experience

• 5–7 years of relevant backend development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience developing backend services, APIs, and enterprise applications.
• Experience with cloud-native development and microservices.
• Experience with software development lifecycle, CI/CD, testing, and Agile methodologies.
