Baader Technician

About the role

The MV Excellence is a processing vessel operated by Phoenix Processor LP. Technicians will work on board for approximately 9 months out of the year, with a rotation schedule that includes both at-sea and port-based work.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of Baader mechanical and electrical systems for fish fillet machines
• Train processing crew in operating and safety procedures for fish fillet machines
• Able to make necessary adjustments to equipment as to meet product specifications
• Understanding of product recovery and able to test and make adjustments as necessary
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems to control parts ordering and inventory
• Work as a team with the Factory Engineering Department, Production Manager and Quality Control Manager to ensure quality product

Requirements

• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Work around moving machinery
• Climb, stoop, kneel and crouch as necessary to perform job duties

Qualifications

• Pass a pre-employment drug test and participate in our random drug testing program

Benefits

• Earn a daily wage with a bonus based on production
• Average annual pay range $80,000 to $140,000
• The daily wage is paid every two weeks; the case rate bonus is paid 10 business days after the end of each fishing season

Pay

Guaranteed day rate with bonus opportunity based on production. Day rate is paid twice monthly and bonus is paid 10 business days after the end of each fishing season. Rates are negotiated according to experience; we are highly competitive in industry rates.

Schedule

While working at sea, hours are 12 on and 12 off, 7 days per week.
