About the role

A Senior Business Analyst with 10+ years of experience in the insurance domain and some Platform Administrator skills. This role involves preparing and maintaining detailed system requirements, including functionality and software architecture, to support our Business Process Modeling system.

The successful candidate will facilitate the business analysis process, working with internal and external customers to identify business requirements for system solutions or improved processes that increase efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with technical requirements, product requirements, test considerations, operational concerns, and system constraints.
  • Conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Interact with customers, third-party vendors, co-workers, project teams, and upper management for system development.
  • Prepare decision-making documentation (e.g., business cases) for potential new product development approaches.
  • Use Business Process Modeling techniques and tools to create business process models.
  • Facilitate the elicitation of business and systems requirements, utilizing a comprehensive understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
  • Provide leadership to analyze business unit requests and understand business requirements.
  • Work with technical staff to determine possible solutions and communicate business and system impacts to IT and Operations staff.
  • Manage multiple diverse projects with competing deadlines using well-developed organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Conduct business process analysis and needs assessments to align information technology solutions with business initiatives.
  • Assist in coordinating requirements within software package development.
  • Report against DB2 and Oracle databases using SQL tools.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the insurance domain.
  • Some Platform Administrator skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to define and develop system requirements.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Desire to continually improve the quality and efficiency of work.

Skills

  • Good understanding of data schema concepts on Oracle and DB2.
  • Good understanding of JavaScript and web services.
  • Experience with SQL tools for reporting against DB2 and Oracle databases.
