B-Shift Livestock Handler 4 (Harvesting)

This position requires moving hogs safely and effectively with minimum stress to the animal while following all humane handling guidelines and policies. Tyson Team Members are responsible for both personal and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Move hogs safely and effectively with minimal stress
• Follow humane handling guidelines and policies
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 6+ months prior experience working with and handling livestock in loading/unloading operations
• Experience with skid loaders and forklift operation preferred
• Basic experience with livestock handling in a procurement area of the meat industry preferred
• Prior knowledge and experience with humane animal handling procedures and policies in procurement preferred
• Basic computer knowledge preferred
• Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with team members and government officials
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 70 pounds or more unassisted
• Ability to stand for extended periods (8 to 10 hours excluding break time)
