B&E SUPERVISOR

About the Role

This position is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the ammonia refrigeration system, boiler, compressed air systems, and performing preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on all equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and complete work orders and preventive maintenance paperwork in a timely manner.
• Maintain a log book of all breakdowns and corrective actions taken.
• Schedule shutdowns of equipment and machinery for repairs and maintenance without disrupting production.
• Maintain, repair, rebuild, and adjust ammonia refrigeration and related equipment by analyzing, calibrating, replacing, repairing, or rebuilding within established guidelines.
• Safely isolate and pump down any section of all systems.
• Perform routine maintenance on ammonia compressors, air compressors, boilers, evaporator units, pumps, motors, and other equipment.
• Utilize time effectively to minimize equipment downtime and repairs.
• Follow lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures for all equipment being worked on.
• Be a team player and ask for guidance or help when needed.
• Be on call and able to work alone if required.
• Receive and follow training on LOTO, fall protection, confined space, hot work, and other safety-related topics.
• Order materials and parts as needed for stock or repairs.
• Maintain engine rooms, compressor rooms, and roof areas in a clean and orderly state.
• Work professionally with outside vendors and technicians.
• Assist maintenance technicians with mechanical troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
• Follow and implement OSHA 1910.119 PSM Standard and PSM/RMP program.
• Reports directly to the B&R Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of maintenance, maintenance supervision, or process/project management experience.
• Must be a member of the Hazardous Materials Team (HAZMAT) and SCBA certified.
• At least two years in a refrigeration or boiler room preferred.
• Operator 1 and Operator 2 certifications preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of industrial maintenance and electrical functions.
• Able to learn and follow directions from management and team leaders.
• Able to follow and implement safety rules.
• Able to read and write in English.
• Proficient with time management and prioritizing work.
• Able to use a computer for engine room functions and email.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Good planning and priority-setting skills.
• Safety-minded.
• May be required to work long hours and weekends.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle/feel items, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.
• Work environment includes wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold (non-weather related), and working near moving mechanical parts.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud in the production area.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
