Job Responsibilities

Direct Support Professionals:

• Assist and/or supervise in activities of daily living skills
• Administer or assist with prescribed medication
• Light housekeeping
• Auxiliary in transportation
• Auxiliary in the implementation of individual goals and objectives
• Data entry using Therap (EHR)
• Auxiliary in the pursuit of recreational, social, and community activities based on residents' preferences and individual plans

Group Home Managers and Assistant Managers:

• Supervise all aspects of the group home
• Plan and conduct staff meetings and training
• Conduct interviews and observations, provide feedback, and complete employee evaluations
• Share on-call responsibilities with the group home Assistant Manager
• Uphold agency and licensing regulations
• Create staff scheduling
• Auxiliary in scheduling doctors' appointments
• Responsible for program and client finances
• Assist with activities of daily living skills
• Administer or assist with prescribed medication
• Light housekeeping
• Auxiliary in transportation
• Auxiliary in the implementation of individual goals and objectives
• Data entry using Therap (EHR)
• Auxiliary in the pursuit of recreational, social, and community activities based on residents' preferences and individual plans

Licensed Practical Nurses:

• Administer or assist with prescribed medication
• Light housekeeping
• Auxiliary in transportation
• Auxiliary in the implementation of individual goals and objectives
• Data entry using Therap (EHR)
• Auxiliary in the pursuit of recreational, social, and community activities based on residents' preferences and individual plans

Job Requirements

Direct Support Professionals:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• A valid driver's license in good standing, and must be insurable through NJID's insurance
• Strong communication skills

Group Home Managers and Assistant Managers:

• High School diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience as a supervisor and working with people with disabilities
• A valid driver's license in good standing and must be insurable through NJID's insurance
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Administers medication and medical treatments as required and completes documentation
• Accompanies individuals to and from medical appointments and activities as needed
• Assists with activities of daily living as needed
• Data entry using Therap (EHR)
• Implements medically prescribed diets and exercise programs
• Completes documentation that is necessary for program operations promptly

Licensed Practical Nurses:

• A valid NJ State Practical Nurse License
• High School diploma or equivalent
• A valid driver's license in good standing and must be insurable under NJID's mobile insurance
• Experience with G-tube feedings
• Experience working with intellectual, developmental, and related disabilities preferred
