Azure Solutions Sales Consultant - Central
About the Role
As an Azure Solution Sales Consultant for Cloud Services, you partner with sales and clients to define requirements and scope opportunities. You provide technical presales support, translate needs into tailored solutions, identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities, align pricing and margins with sales and delivery, draft or coordinate statements of work, and maintain solution collateral. This role operates as both an overlay to existing SoftwareOne customers and drives new business development. Responsibilities
- Partner with sales and clients to assess requirements, objectives, and constraints during discovery.
- Scope and size opportunities using analytical rigor to align client needs with delivery capabilities.
- Design tailored solutions aligned to client requirements and defined service offerings.
- Define pricing and margins in collaboration with sales and delivery to ensure profitability.
- Manage and/or develop clear, comprehensive proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs) outlining scope, timelines, and terms.
- Build and maintain solution collateral including case studies, presentations, and white papers.
- Collaborate with marketing to create compelling sales enablement materials.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in client meetings, presentations, and workshops.
- Support the full sales cycle from business development to deal closure to achieve quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Travel up to 40% required.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in solutions sales, cloud consulting, or technical pre-sales supporting Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS offerings.
- Proven ability to generate, qualify, and close net-new and expansion opportunities within mid-market and enterprise customers.
- Strong consultative selling skills, including customer discovery, needs analysis, and executive-level storytelling.
- Demonstrated success positioning Azure solutions to address business challenges and deliver measurable customer outcomes.
- Experience navigating complex sales cycles involving technical, business, security, procurement, and finance stakeholders.
- Ability to articulate differentiated value propositions, handle objections, and influence buying decisions.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including compute, networking, storage, security, and pricing models, sufficient to lead customer solution discussions.
- Experience collaborating with architects and engineers to scope and propose cloud modernization, AI, application, data, and hybrid solutions.
- Understanding of cloud security concepts, identity and access management (IAM), governance, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Strong negotiation skills, including experience with procurement processes, deal structuring, and closing complex transactions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Microsoft Azure certifications (Azure Fundamentals AZ-900 and Azure AI Fundamentals AI-900 preferred).

Organizational Alignment
The Azure Solution Sales Consultant reports to the VP of Cloud Solution Sales and collaborates closely across field sales teams, the broader solution sales organization, sales leadership, and the delivery teams.

Pay
Target compensation for this role is $240,000 - $275,000 USD (mix of base salary and bonus). Actual offers may vary based on qualifications, experience, education, and work location.
