About the role
The Azure Solutions Engineer is a senior role within the Office of Early Childhood (OEC) in Hartford, CT. This position provides architectural leadership and technical direction for OEC’s application ecosystem, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards. Key responsibilities include guiding cloud-based application design, supporting modern development practices, and ensuring the reliability and performance of mission-critical applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate multiple software development teams delivering enterprise applications and technology solutions.
- Plan, assign, and monitor development activities to ensure timely delivery of projects and enhancements.
- Review and approve solution designs, technical specifications, and application architectures.
- Oversee development, testing, deployment, and support of web applications using Microsoft technologies.
- Lead implementation of cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
- Oversee development of integrations with internal and external systems using APIs and related technologies.
- Support Agile delivery processes including backlog management, sprint planning, and release planning.
- Oversee implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritize work and define solution requirements.
- Manage vendor-delivered development activities and technical deliverables.
- Evaluate and implement automation, reporting, and AI-based solutions to support business operations.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in Azure cloud services, .NET application architecture, and enterprise application modernization. Must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, and at least 7 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and .NET technologies.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of developers.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and DevOps practices.
- Experience with designing and implementing secure, scalable, and reliable cloud-based applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Skills
- Proficiency in Azure services such as Azure Functions, Azure App Service, and Azure Storage.
- Experience with .NET Core and ASP.NET MVC.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary range of $120,047 - $150,820/year, full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, first shift, 8 am to 4:30 pm, hybrid role combining in-office and telework.
