Azure Consultant

About the role

Planet Technologies, the Nation’s leading Microsoft services provider to the public sector, is seeking an Azure Consultant to join their growing team. This role involves supporting impactful projects that benefit the country, with responsibilities including project scoping, assessment, planning, leading, designing, delivering, testing, and creating supporting technical documentation for customer implementations.

Responsibilities

• Owns technical deployment projects by providing oversight of involved technologies, risks, and dependencies.
• Maps technical requirements into actionable steps to deploy and hand over technical solutions.
• Designs and deploys all facets of an Azure environment or a Microsoft Tenant.
• Plans and executes end-to-end implementation and supports applicable migrations/deployments of target workloads.
• Maintains above-average understanding of existing and emerging Microsoft technologies.
• Communicates between technology and customer requirements to achieve desired outcomes.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Wide knowledge in Azure platforms and Entra ID, and comparable or competing technologies.
• Experience with Azure Core Platform: Entra ID, Compute, AI, Storage, Data, Networking.
• Commercial, Government and Azure Secret Deployment Automation experience.
• Experience with Multi-cloud or multi-tenancy.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Security technology stack.
• Experience with Compliance frameworks such as NIST or CMMC.

• Creates and applies process, creates and delivers documentation, and sets standards across multiple practice areas.
• Demonstrates skills required to be the technical lead and support customer projects.
• Ability to implement related technologies and understand their direct dependencies.
• Ability to navigate new or unknown technical areas and quickly get up to speed to support customer requirements.
• Professional with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proactive in responding to internal/external questions and collaborating across internal/external teams.
• Solves problems efficiently in complex environments and suggests process improvement or standardization as requested and/or needed.
• Effectively articulates escalations and communicates progress to stakeholders, when needed.
• Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies with demonstrated hands-on experience in several of the following domains: Azure Core Platform, Commercial, Government, Azure Secret, Deployment Automation, Multi-cloud or multi-tenancy, Microsoft Security technology stack, and Compliance experience.

Pay

Salaries for Consultants at Planet Technologies range from $120,000 to $210,000. Factors impacting final pay include type and years of experience within the job, clearance level, type of years and experience within the industry, education, training, etc.
