About the Role

The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the overall satisfaction and well-being of our residents at Highland Groves in Gilbert, AZ. Technical expertise and dedication to quality workmanship will contribute to creating a comfortable and enjoyable living environment for our residents. This position performs a wide range of maintenance tasks related to building and apartment maintenance, including unit turnovers, work orders, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repairs, while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform apartment maintenance tasks, including maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, or replacing:
    • Plumbing
    • Electrical systems
    • Appliances
    • Air conditioning
  • Assist with the preparation of vacant apartments for occupancy and apartment turnover.
  • Participate in community maintenance duties, including building maintenance, preventative maintenance, service request completion, groundskeeping, and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one to two years of related maintenance experience and/or training.
  • Strong customer service skills and a passion for helping people.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and positively with residents, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws.
  • Capable of frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, occasionally moving or maneuvering up to 100 pounds.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must provide and use your own hand tools to perform duties unless otherwise specified by the property.
  • Effective problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Good attention to detail and a team player attitude.
  • Able to respond to emergency calls after scheduled work hours, weekends, and holidays when needed.

Schedule

Full-time, 8-hour shift, 40 hours per week with occasional overtime.
