About the role
The Strategic Pursuits Lead Business Development Manager builds compelling proposals and strategic business plans by collaborating with AWS customers and stakeholders across Amazon business units and the AI Services team to create stronger customer value propositions. This role focuses on building organizational capabilities, driving strategic change, developing scalable business models, fostering a diverse and inclusive work culture, and working with multiple stakeholders across Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead and program manage strategic partnership engagements from scoping and executive alignment through to signing partnership agreements, working with executives, technical teams, builders, and buyers to drive positive outcomes, often within white space.
- Pilot new collaborations and bring products and solutions to market in partnership with strategic customers.
- Build frameworks to foster collaboration and drive net-new strategic initiatives that enable AWS customers to achieve business value and leverage GenAI.
- Demonstrate strong ability to build trust and confidence with account, service, and business development teams, and influence change across geographies.
- Work with senior leaders to create and achieve the team's vision in alignment with Amazon's global standards, policies, and procedures.
- Identify and incorporate best practices into standards to continuously improve processes.
- Support customer executive meetings including EBCs/EVs, workshops, draft narratives and partnership plans, and align teams on common goals.

The GenAI Strategic Pursuits team is focused on driving big outcomes with strategic customers, including innovating with agile customers and working with legacy companies to innovate on the cloud for the first time. The team is customer obsessed, pragmatic, and technology advocates who constantly seek truth.
Basic qualifications
- 7+ years of developing, negotiating, and executing business agreements experience
- 7+ years of Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
Preferred qualifications
- Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments, or as a practice leader or business unit owner
- Experience selling to Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 organizations
Pay
- USA, CA, San Francisco: $193,700.00 - $262,000.00 USD annually
- USA, WA, Seattle: $176,100.00 - $238,200.00 USD annually
- Package includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs); final compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, and location
