About the role
Client is seeking an experienced AWS/Python Full-Stack Developer to support cloud-based quantitative research, signal generation, back-testing, data, and analytics platforms. This person will join an Agile full-stack team and work closely with developers, architects, product owners, and business partners. The role requires strong experience with Python, AWS, React, DevOps, and data engineering.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop cloud-based applications and quantitative research platforms
- Build secure, resilient, observable, and production-ready applications
- Develop backend services and data-processing solutions using Python
- Create web applications and dashboards using React or Dash
- Build and maintain data pipelines using AWS Glue, S3, PostgreSQL, and Athena
- Develop microservices and serverless applications using Lambda, SNS, SQS, and API Gateway
- Design and implement secure REST APIs
- Build and support containerized applications using Amazon ECS
- Develop proofs of concept to validate architectural patterns
- Deploy and support AWS applications in production
- Implement application monitoring and logging using CloudWatch
- Support CI/CD automation using Bamboo, Bitbucket, Artifactory, and Ansible
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of software development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, AWS, React, and data engineering
- Experience with Python libraries and frameworks such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, Dash, Dask, Flask, and Boto3
- Experience with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, CloudWatch, Step Functions, S3, Glue, SNS, SQS, API Gateway, and PostgreSQL
- Experience designing microservices and serverless applications
- Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL pipelines, and caching strategies
- Experience implementing secure APIs, session management, and authentication
- Knowledge of Okta integration
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Amazon SageMaker and Athena
- Knowledge of the investment-management or equities domain
- Experience supporting quantitative research or trading applications
