ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with other scrum team members to develop and implement DevOps culture across the project team.
- Work with the application team and focus on AWS infrastructure and automation.
- Champion and lead infrastructure automation.
- Design, develop, implement, and configure AWS cloud environments and tools.
- Implement security controls and security features to support and address cybersecurity challenges.
- Implement monitoring best practices to take proactive steps and troubleshoot production problems.
- Perform configuration and automation using a broad range of AWS services.
- Support the build of a continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline to trigger automation suite.
- Maintain the automation suite in the cloud platform.
- Coordinate with other development contractors and Cloud/DevOps Engineers.
- Configure network connections to test environments and infrastructures, in both mainframe and cloud infrastructure.
- Implement development and enhancement of CloudFormation and Terraform scripts for the AWS infrastructure.
- Execute implementation plans in the AWS environment for a variety of initiatives ranging from load balanced EC2 scaling groups to Lambda functions.
- Lift and shift third-party tools to cloud and unit test - test scripts.
- Document architecture best practices and strategies associated with application deployment and infrastructure support.
- Manage AWS resources and native cloud services and products.
- Maintain the continuity of operations with 100% up time.
- Participate in all phases of Agile ceremonies.
- Clear written and verbal communications skills to manage and lead troubleshooting calls, communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience with core AWS platform architecture, including areas such as: Organizations, Account Design, VPC, Subnet, segmentation strategies.
- Familiarity with monitoring the operations and security of EC2, containers and AWS services.
- Familiarity with executing Stacks, Stack Sets, CloudFormation scripts, etc.
- Familiarity with network connectivity, AWS Direct Connect and AWS Site-to-Site VPNs.
- Familiarity with encryption like AWS KMS.
- Familiarity with logging with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, etc.
- Working experience on Load Balancing Technologies (emphasis on F5, others might be an added advantage).
- Experience with AWS Elastic Container Service (ECS) to Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) migration.
- Experience working within a Continuous Integration environment using Docker, Kubernetes.
- Experience with GitHub, BitBucket versioning systems and tools like Puppet and Ansible.
- Experience in performing and supporting backups, upgrades, and patches.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, and other collaborative platforms.
- Ability to conduct daily system monitoring and experience in maintenance and Operations tasks, manage system resources and application performance.
- Experience with operational tools like New Relic, Kibana, Elasticsearch, etc., to perform Splunk Searching and Reporting, perform New Relic Monitoring.
- Experience with building tools such as Maven, Gradle, ANT, Grunt etc.
- Experience with OpenShift.
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Candidates must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience working with Mainframe systems.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in technical field.
- 8+ years of Application Development / Maintenance and/or Application Administration.
- 4+ years of experience maintaining the AWS infrastructure and supporting applications.
- 4+ years of experience with DevOps tools, Monitoring tools like Splunk, New Relic, Jenkins.
